About the Director: Noel Streacker is a freelance percussionist, drummer, composer, music director, and educator in the greater Chicagoland area. He received his BM in Pedagogy from Wheaton College (IL), and his MM in performance from Northern Illinois University. As a percussionist and drum set player, Noel has collaborated with many theaters, chamber groups, choirs, handbell choirs, orchestras, churches and jazz bands across the Midwest. Some notable collaborations include Arcomusical (a premiere berimbau sextet based out of DeKalb Illinois), Goodman Theater, Kokandy Productions, Theo Ubique Cabaret, Columbia College Chicago, Roosevelt University, UW Madison, UW Milwaukee, Ripon College, DePauw University, Ithaca University, Camerata Chicago, Chicago Bronze, and many venues throughout the Midwest. As a soloist, Noel is most passionate about the intersect of classical music and electronics, and drum set as a solo instrument. Hist most ambitious project is a group called Orenda which includes a Steel Panist, a Harpist, and a Percussionist. The group performs all original works that frequently involve electronics. Currently, Noel teaches at Wheaton College (IL) and College of DuPage as Adjunct Faculty directing the Percussion Ensemble and teaching private lessons. He also teaches at Wheaton North High School and Wheaton Warrenville South High School as the Percussion Specialist and Marching Percussion Director. His responsibilities include directing the percussion ensemble, teaching private lessons, instrument repair and maintenance, and managing all aspects of percussion and audio during the marching band season. His ensembles are most recognized for their musicianship and attention to detail, winning multiple best percussion awards across his tenure. When Noel is not performing, teaching, music directing, or composing, he appreciates time spent with his wife and kids.
