About Ingrid Jensen
Born in Vancouver and raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Ingrid Jensen is widely regarded as one of the most gifted trumpeters of her generation. A graduate of Berklee College of Music (1989), she quickly gained international recognition through acclaimed recordings and performances. After serving as the youngest professor at the Bruckner Conservatory in Austria, she moved to New York City, where she performed with leading jazz ensembles and artists, including Maria Schneider and Terri Lyne Carrington.
Jensen is a founding member of the supergroup ARTEMIS and leads her own ensembles, earning a global following. A frequent collaborator with her sister, saxophonist Christine Jensen, she released the acclaimed album Infinitude. Her recent recording, Landings, was released earlier this year and has received significant critical praise. In addition to performing, she serves on the Manhattan School of Music faculty.
The DuPage Community Jazz Ensemble performs programs throughout the academic year as well as numerous off‐campus performances. The ensemble has accompanied guest artists such as Melissa Aldana, Wycliffe Gordon, Ignacio Berroa, Carl Allen, Dee Alexander, Fareed Haque, Jens Lindemann, Victor Garcia, and Mark Colby, is a frequent presence at the Elmhurst University Jazz Festival, has performed at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago, and in 2004 was recognized by the United States House of Representatives for its work on behalf of the Armed Forces Children’s Education Fund. Its repertoire spans more than a century of large jazz ensemble compositions, including original work from members of the ensemble.
