Enhance your students classroom learning with SchoolStage, the MAC’s educational performance series for kids in preschool through 12th grade. Complete with study guides, SchoolStage performances can help children and teachers meet Common Core Standards in a fun and entertaining way.

Make a reservation today by calling (630) 942-2220 or emailing grouptix@cod.edu. Tickets are not available online. Individuals, Home School and groups of any size are welcome based on availability.

Attendance at any show, combined with pre- and post-performance activities, connects with one or more of the following standards:

  • Language
  • Reading for Literacy in History/Social Studies
  • Reading for Literature
  • Speaking and Listening
  • Writing

Additionally, in the Common Core Standards for Reading, the definition of the word text can be expanded to include non-printed works such as dance, music, theater and visual arts. A field trip to a live performing arts show offers a different way of perceiving and learning, and is a means to expand the toolbox of knowledge.

This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.

Study Guides

Detailed study guides are available for many performances, which introduce the material and offer historical/cultural context to aid in understanding what they are seeing.
