We welcome you to perform with us. Each semester (fall, spring, and summer) the college academic departments in Dance, Music, and Theater offer classes you can enroll in to be part of the fun. See below for each department’s process and contact information.

THEATER

Summer 2025 Theater Class Information

Each semester (fall, spring and summer), COD Theater Department stages two productions. Auditions are held at the beginning of each academic term. Call 630.942.3008 or email CTauditions@cod.edu to be added to the audition email list.

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. All actors must audition for both productions. Bring 2 copies of the audition form (attached) with you to auditions. Be prepared to do short group improvisations for Alice in TV-Land and dance/sing for Cinderella. Bring 16 bars prepared for Cinderella. Sides will be provided at callbacks, if necessary. Callbacks are by invitation only and actors will be emailed on Friday night if callbacks occur. Please note that these shows are classes. If you are cast in either production, you are required to register for Theater 2211. Permission to register for this class will take place following auditions.

Alice in TV-Land script created through improvisation by cast and director

Directed by Assistant Professor Daniel Millhouse

Performance Dates: June 23 – July 20 (Tours throughout the county)

Synopsis: Lights. Camera. Action! When Alice stumbles into the dazzling world of TV-Land, she is swept into a whirlwind of sitcoms, wacky gameshow hosts, and over-the-top personalities. But when the powerful producer, the Red Queen, starts calling all the shots, Alice must find her voice and stand up for what’s right. Break out your TV guide and get ready for a fast-paced, fun-filled adventure where you become the live-studio audience!

Performance Dates: July 11-20 (Belushi Performance Hall)
Synopsis: Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the new Broadway adaptation of the classic musical. This contemporary take on the classic tale features Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” alongside an up-to-date, hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane.
