We welcome you to perform with us. Each semester (fall, spring, and summer) the college academic departments in Dance, Music, and Theater offer classes you can enroll in to be part of the fun. See below for each department’s process and contact information.

THEATER

Each semester (fall, spring and summer), COD Theater Department stages two productions. Auditions are held at the beginning of each academic term. Call 630.942.3008 or email CTauditions@cod.edu to be added to the audition email list.

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. All actors must audition for both productions. Bring 2 copies of the audition form (attached) with you to auditions. If you are cast in either production, you are required to register for Theater 1120/1121. Permission to register for this class will take place following auditions.

The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

Directed by Daniel Millhouse

Performance Dates: Mar 5 – 22 (Studio Theatre)

Synopsis: Dual identities, a domineering matriarch and a mysterious handbag spark hilarious confusion in Oscar Wilde’s delightful comedy of manners. Follow the antics of two wildly eligible bachelors attempting to escape the constraints of Victorian society in their pursuit of love, marriage and happiness – though not necessarily in that order. Wilde’s witty comic masterpiece is peppered with an array of deliciously eccentric characters and seasoned with his notoriously biting social commentary.

Fight Girl Battle World by Qui Nguyen

Directed by Amelia Barrett

Performance Dates: Apr 9 – 19 (Playhouse Theatre)

Synopsis: Fight Girl Battle World is an action-packed space odyssey, set in a futuristic universe where the human race is on the brink of extinction. Follow E-V, the last known female human in the galaxy, along with her rag-tag crew: a battle-hardened ex- General, a rogue alien pilot and a sarcastic robot sidekick, as they embark on a desperate mission to find the last human male before aliens erase him forever.

Find a musical community and experience the joy of performing in one of COD’s many ensembles. Musicians of all ages are welcome to join. Select ensembles require an audition to join and/or for placement. Students register for all ensembles.
