“Don Quixote” is a comedic romance set against the sun-drenched landscapes of Spain, underscored by the vibrant compositions of Ludwig Minkus. The hallmark of this ballet lies in its fabulous and incredible dancing, captivating audiences from the very beginning to the grand finale. Drawing inspiration from Miguel de Cervantes’ epic 17th-century novel, the ballet narrates the tale of Don Quixote, an imaginative old knight who, spurred by a vision, embarks on a quest with his loyal companion Sancho Panza to find the idealized Dulcinea.
Adding to the magic of the production, the dancers seamlessly incorporate tambourines and Spanish fans into their routines, creating a rhythmic and visually stunning display. The lively music, combined with the percussive beats of tambourines and the graceful movements of Spanish fans, adds an extra layer of excitement and cultural richness to the performance.
Stay after the performance on Saturday, March 23 for Fiesta de Familia, a fun and child-focused event, included in the ticket price. The Fiesta adds an extra layer of enjoyment with tambourines, Spanish fans, and the magical touch of confetti.
Performance runtime is approx. 1.5 hours, including an intermission. “Don Quixote” is designed to be family-friendly and suitable for children aged 4 and above.
